Just launched  new FB sub-page focusing on my costumes and supplies, alongside my main that covers my crafts as well. This will display my costume pieces as well as some WIP pictures, maybe some stuff about how I work, and can also be used as a point of contact for ordering and commissions.

If these kind of things interest you, come along and give it a like!

Salutations.

Been a little quiet lately as...it's been pretty much the quietest part of my year. Not a lot tends to to happen in January and February so I'm taking to using those months for research and development. In the interim time I've made a bunch of inroads into new things to offer, and added a few smaller items to my Etsy, as well as adding in an option for my mask heads through it so as people can make purchases easily if required.

I've been getting to grips with proper wiring and soldering so that I can offer fans, LEDs and other interesting electrical curiosities within my FX.

I've also been fielding a few quotes from commissioners and events, and a lot of them sound like very exciting projects! Incredibly exciting. Many of them are horror-related, corpses, monsters, that sort of stuff. A few others are LARP costume pieces that I'm very much looking forward to working on.

In that vein, I've been looking into entirely rehauling the 'under the hood' portions of my mask heads. As the majority of my mask commissioners, (or potential ones) are Live Action Roleplayers, I want to have a range of masks that would be more comfortable for this. So alongside my PU resin works I'm also hoping to be able to offer ones that allow the wearer to use their own eyes and use a flexible foam cast for the sake of comfort and safety. So watch this space.

Also! As some of the pictures in my gallery I'm working on one of the 'classic' masks as a premade piece. A red fox. That should be going up for sale some time in the near future, depending on how busy I am with other work.

Also also! I've pledged one of my new pewter pieces, an 'Ancient Mjolnir' to the LARPaid auction 2016! If you need a mjolnir for yourself, your character, or a viking that you care for, and you happen to be attending, do check it out! I've pledged it free of charge and the profits from this year are going to Childline, which is a very worthy cause!

..and breathe.

Queue is clear for the year. (All the few days left of it, haha.) and have been enjoying a little break over the festive period. Then after New Year turns around it will be back in the workshop once again! An excellent fellow I happen to know has offered to put electrical power into it, so no messing about with long and winding extension cables and longer working hours as electrical light will be a lot easier to facilitate.

In the immediate future I'm looking into some Research and Development for new work, and by the looks of it will be moving onto some more big commissions for events in towards the Summer. Some pretty cool stuff in the pipeline by the looks of it, so watch this space!

In the meantime in my R&D period look out for:

-Resin Horns
-Painted Eyes
-A premade mask for sale.
-A new kind of mask configuration and possibly one of those up for grabs too.
-Electronics
-Costume Wings
-Pewter Casting
-Some new types of ask bases, both in the range I offer, and how they work.

Hope you've all had a merry Christmas, a happy Yule, or indeed that whatever you celebrate around this time has been great!

Though it would be prudent to have something with my current status as to what I'm working on and the statuses, as I've been handling commissions.  I am currently open for heads and beginner partials. (That is, head, tail and handpaws.) My paw design has been properly field tested and I'm happy with their quality so I feel like I can offer these as an option at this point.

Current Commission Queue:

1)  Werecat Head - Commission - Status: Paid in Full - Final Sewing Stage

2)  Husky Head - Commission - Status: Deposit Received -  Materials on Order

3) Stag Half-Head - Pre-Made - Status: N/A - Resin Shell Cast

??) Bear Half-Head - Commission - Status: On Hold
??) Werecreature Troops - Personal/LARP Community Project - Status: Pre-Production

So I'm back from LARP, having tested my latest head to the fullest extend through her being worn for all sorts of running around, rituals, late-night villainy and all kinds of things.

Having tested her to (non) destruction, and with my current orders very much underway, (One khajiit and one stag.) I'm tentatively labelling myself as open for heads at this time, albeit it's probably not something I'm going to be actively pushing.

For a couple of years now I've adored costume work, but I've always been very concerned about trying to take on too much too soon. I feel like a lot of makers start when they're not ready and this causes everyone a fair bit of disappointment along the line. However, I feel like now I have actually reached a point where my work is worth charging for.

Heads are set to start at around £300/$500. Tails are also good to go. I hope to be able to add paws to me repertoire shortly but I'm still not totally happy about my patterning for them. Materials for costuming, such as claws, bases, jawsets and the like, should be added to my Etsy in due course.
